Last friday a few of my friends and I travelled to P.E.I. for the Cavendish Beach Music Festival to enjoy a weekend filled with awesome music, good food and even better company. And even though hurricane Arthur made an appearance and disrupted our saturday plans it was still an amazing weekend.
Friday was absolutely beautiful out and incredibly hot. There wasn't a cloud in the sky but just standing in the sun made you instantly sweat. As soon as we entered the venue, my friend and I spotted these delicious looking slushies that people were drinking out of buckets, so naturally I needed to try one. You got to choose your slushie flavour as well as the type of liquor you wanted it mixed with. I chose pink lemonade with vodka and my friend, Cheyanne, chose peach with rum. They were both very tastey and refreshing in the baking sun. We explored while listening to Julia Sheer perform on the main stage and then met up with some friends. The lines for food during the sets were outrageous so we settled for $2 htdogs, but my goodness they were delicious. My favourite act of the day by far was Lady Antebellum, but Gord Bramford, Brett Kissel and Jordan Macintosh were incredible as well. Cheyanne and I were even lucky enough to meet Jordan after his set.

Saturday was when Arthur really hit the island and the wind was just too strong to let people into the venue, so it was cancelled for the day. Blake Shelton and Sam Hunt were sadly missed but we still made the most of our day. We explored the Cavendish boardwalk and bought some boardgames from the local Wal-Mart to play at the hotel. The power ended up going out on and off throughout the night so we ended up playing Apples to Apple and Cranium in the dark.

Sunday was another beautiful day, but luckily there was still some wind left from Arthur so it wasn't sweating hot. We played beer pong, took pictures, enjoyed more hotdogs, explored the venue and again listened to some amazing music. Dean Brody was fantastic and Blackjack Billy was lots of fun. Tebey was wonderful as well! We unfortunately had to head out before Hunter hayes came on stage to perform because we had to work super early the next morning and it's about a three hour drive home. I will forever be saddened that I mossed Hunter Hayes, but I had a wonderful weekend and can't wait to go back next year. I just hope they get Luke Bryan to come and perform!
